Because this year was very different from the previous ones.<\/h3>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Let\u2019s start with some very good news: global greenhouse gas emissions have fallen, the rate of global warming has slowed. Don\u2019t forget the bad news: COVID has slowed economies, paralyzed industries and endangered or ruined people\u2019s health, lives and jobs.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">We are part of a global and a local crisis at the same time, and while it would be easier to focus only on our customers and our profit, as a responsible organization, we are obliged to do more than that.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Anyone who saw&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=LWyqjrGLMZQ\">David Attenborough\u2019s \u2013 A Life on Our Planet<\/a>&nbsp;knows that two-thirds of forests have disappeared from the face of Earth since the beginning of industrial civilization and biodiversity is declining rapidly, plunging our planet into a global catastrophe.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">We are filled with hope that our hard work spreading a new framework (<a href=\"https:\/\/buildext.com\/en\/bim-aka-building-industry-4-0\/\">BIM<\/a>) will reshape the way the construction industry works and is about&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/buildext.com\/en\/sustainability\/\">sustainability<\/a>&nbsp;in every way.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">It is a new digital ecosystem that through technology and smart devices, implements efficient design, radically reduces unnecessary work processes and construction waste and allows a more economical building operation.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">This means 20-40% cost reduction in the life cycle of a building which also means, less energy consumption, lower carbon emissions and reduced environmental impact overall.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">\n<h2 style=\"text-align: justify;\">This is our future, but we also want to have an impact on our present, so we decided to plant 1 tree seedling for every 100 m<sup>2<\/sup>&nbsp;space planned in BIM on behalf of our customers.<\/h2>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">So half of the amount we spent on Christmas presents was used to plant&nbsp;<strong>1,000 seedlings<\/strong>&nbsp;with the help of&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.myforest.hu\/\">MyForest<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">However, sustainable development is not about only ecological balance, but also about increasing the quality of life.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">As almost one-third of the BuildEXT team originates in Borsod-Aba\u00faj-Zempl\u00e9n and Hajd\u00fa-Bihar counties, it was an obvious decision to give the other half of the amount to support the&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.ujhelykorhaz.hu\/korhazunk\/alapitvanyunk\/\">Foundation for Patients in Zempl\u00e9n<\/a>&nbsp;run by Dr. Ern\u0151 R\u00e1cz, president of the foundation and head of maternity at Erzs\u00e9bet Hospital, S\u00e1toralja\u00fajhely.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>This year, we will neither send branded \u201cmug-wine-bejgli\u201d gift packages, nor will we continue to pollute the sea with plastic waste, instead we will plant trees and help a hospital [&hellip;]<\/p>\n","protected":false},"author":3,"featured_media":38645,"comment_status":"open","ping_status":"open","sticky":false,"template":"","format":"standard","meta":{"footnotes":""},"categories":[54],"tags":[],"class_list":["post-13494","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","has-post-thumbnail","hentry","category-member-news"],"yoast_head":"<!-- This site is optimized with the Yoast SEO plugin v27.4 -
