It allows us to create more with less and to deliver greater value with less input. A recent survey, entitled \u201cTowards the circular economy\u201d<a title=\"\" href=\"#_ftn1\"><sup><sup>[1]<\/sup><\/sup><\/a>reveals the economic benefits of efforts towards enhancing resource efficiency. Another report<a title=\"\" href=\"#_ftn2\">[2]<\/a> says that 87% of consumers surveyed worldwide want companies to adopt sourcing policies that respect <b>biodiversity<\/b>. Proper resource efficiency practices aiming for absolute resource use reduction can benefit also biological diversity. Resource scarcity, tighter environmental standards as well as increase consumer awareness are here to stay and will reward businesses that shift away from the \u201ctake, make and dispose\u201d approach.<\/p>\n<p>CEEweb for Biodiversity has been a trail-blazer in Central and Eastern Europe in formulating and advocating for effective resource use policies as well as in building up the CEE business and biodiversity platform.
