{"id":5956,"date":"2016-07-19T16:39:39","date_gmt":"2016-07-19T09:38:12","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/bcsdh.hu\/?p=5956"},"modified":"2016-07-19T16:39:39","modified_gmt":"2016-07-19T09:38:12","slug":"every-business-depends-on-nature-for-success","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/bcsdh.hu\/en\/news\/every-business-depends-on-nature-for-success\/","title":{"rendered":"Every business depends on nature for success"},"content":{"rendered":"<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong>Under the banner of the <\/strong><a href=\"http:\/\/cl.s6.exct.net\/?qs=70b33a1f104ad8117386b30a7ff639f58bbc07e8a8e070578731dd5f12d2f141\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><strong>Natural Capital Coalition<\/strong><\/a><strong>, around 240 cross sectoral leaders gathered in London to launch the <\/strong><a href=\"http:\/\/cl.s6.exct.net\/?qs=70b33a1f104ad811fd7972baa01d477c5a38a1fe1ded41570ed4411b4914f31a\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><strong>Natural Capital Protocol<\/strong><\/a><strong> &#8211; the first ever standardized framework for business to measure and value its impacts and dependencies on natural capital. This is a huge leap forward.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">All businesses now have access to cutting edge information that will improve decision-making with respect to nature, and allow evidence-based conversations about sustainability.<\/p>\n<p>WBCSD is proud to have led development of the Protocol on behalf of the Natural Capital Coalition, through a consortium of nearly 30 businesses, service providers, NGOs, academics and individual experts to work towards this key sustainability milestone.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">As business navigates an economy increasingly defined by the boundaries of our planet, it\u2019s critical for us to begin seriously considering natural capital in every-day business decision-making, so that we truly can do more with less. The companies who do this will be better positioned to succeed as regulations change and natural resources diminish.<\/p>\n<p>A smart business person will make efforts to live off the interest earned by corporate capital reserves, rather than devouring foundational capital &#8211; the time has come to do the same for nature. The Natural Capital Protocol does just that: it opens the pathway for us to treat our relationship with nature with the same careful consideration that we treat our finances.<\/p>\n<p>Business leaders at the highest level now have the opportunity to truly improve their relationship with nature in a way that\u2019s useful, reliable and accessible.
