SPAR Hungary’s innovative packaging technology has been honoured with two prestigious awards.\u00a0 The company’s flow-pack machine at the Regnum meat processing plant can package the plant’s most popular product using 70% less plastic. In addition to this, the retail chain’s carbon-conscious events also received recognition.<\/p>\n

\u201cFor SPAR Hungary, the issue of environmental sustainability is of strategic importance. To achieve our goals, we are developing our new and renovated stores with this in mind. We are proud that several of our initiatives have recently been recognised with prestigious awards, which confirms that we are on the right track,\u201d explained M\u00e1rk Maczelka, head of communications at SPAR Hungary.<\/p>\n

The \u201cEffekt 2030 \u2013 ESG Solutions Award\u201d<\/em> aims to recognise and promote the effective environmental, social and management solutions companies use, thereby facilitating the development of companies\u2019 ESG-focused approach.\u00a0 In the area of waste reduction of the Green Balance category, SPAR Hungary\u2019s \u201cS-BUDGET minced meat flow-pack packaging change\u201d programme was awarded. \u00a0The new product packaging is safe, preserves the freshness of the meat product, all while using 70% less plastic.\u00a0 With this development, the company has already reduced its plastic use by 22 tonnes since its introduction in 2023.<\/p>\n

SPAR\u2019s innovative packaging technology has won the category of the Joint Venture Association (JVSZ) Companies for the Future Award Best ESG programme<\/em>. The company\u2019s exemplary carbon-conscious events were also recognized by the JVSZ: SPAR has already organized two events in this spirit in 2024. The company compensated for the carbon dioxide emissions generated by the events by planting a total of 418 native fruit trees.<\/p>\n

The Szupermenta programme of N\u00c9BIH (National Food Chain Safety Office) recently assessed 30 retail units nationwide, primarily focusing on their dairy departments.\u00a0 As a result of the survey, the SPAR supermarket located at 3 Csob\u00e1nka t\u00e9r, Budapest, 3rd district, received an excellent rating, thus becoming eligible to use the Szupermenta logo.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
