{"id":8002,"date":"2017-12-06T11:13:49","date_gmt":"2017-12-06T10:13:49","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/bcsdh.hu\/?p=8002"},"modified":"2017-12-06T11:13:49","modified_gmt":"2017-12-06T10:13:49","slug":"31-apple-trees-business-lunch","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/bcsdh.hu\/en\/news\/31-apple-trees-business-lunch\/","title":{"rendered":"Thirty-one apple trees for a business lunch?"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>With the help of an unusual form of multi-actor collaboration, the Business Council for Sustainable Development Hungary (BCSDH), which acts to gather responsible business executives together, will neutralize the CO<sub>2<\/sub> emissions of its jubilee business lunch by planting thirty-one heritage Hungarian apple trees.<\/p>\n<p>The BCSDH, whose 80 affiliates produce 30% of national GDP and employ 400,000 people, recently introduced its responsible employment protocol to 160 corporate leaders at a business lunch.<\/p>\n<p>The organization is committed to supporting climate protection and sustainable development, and sought to present a good example to both companies and the public sector with its carbon-neutral event.<\/p>\n<p>Based on the <strong>Hungarian Food Bank Association\u2019s<\/strong> suggestion of reducing the use or creation of food waste, as well as the contribution of the <strong>Budapest Bike Maffia<\/strong>, <strong>Budapest Party Szerviz<\/strong> workers and participants, BCSDH created an event with a smaller carbon emission. The carbon footprint was calculated by the <strong>GreenDependent Institute<\/strong> at 3.5 tons of CO<sub>2<\/sub>, and the process also took the travel emissions of attendees into account.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-full wp-image-8006 aligncenter lazyload\" data-src=\"https:\/\/bcsdh.hu\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/10\/footprint.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"507\" height=\"325\" src=\"data:image\/svg+xml;base64,PHN2ZyB3aWR0aD0iMSIgaGVpZ2h0PSIxIiB4bWxucz0iaHR0cDovL3d3dy53My5vcmcvMjAwMC9zdmciPjwvc3ZnPg==\" style=\"--smush-placeholder-width: 507px; --smush-placeholder-aspect-ratio: 507\/325;\" \/><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><em>source: GreenDependent Institute<\/em><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>To neutralize the event\u2019s CO<sub>2<\/sub> <sub>\u00a0<\/sub>emissions, with the help of the I<strong>skolakertek\u00e9rt Foundation<\/strong> thirty-one saplings were planted, chosen from the <strong>T\u00fcnd\u00e9rkert Foundation\u2019<\/strong>s selection of heritage Hungarian trees.
