The company&#8217;s factory in Mez\u0151t\u00far processes and packages drought-tolerant hybrid seeds produced in the area, which also result in a fourfold yield. The visit also gave us an opportunity to present the Cont\u00edvo project, in which farmers are taught about sustainable and efficient farming. The advantages and process of \u00a0sustainable growing were described at Syngenta\u2019s farm in Di\u00f3sk\u00e1l.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"wp-image-8965 aligncenter lazyload\" data-src=\"https:\/\/bcsdh.hu\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/10\/01_DSC_0916.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"458\" height=\"305\" src=\"data:image\/svg+xml;base64,PHN2ZyB3aWR0aD0iMSIgaGVpZ2h0PSIxIiB4bWxucz0iaHR0cDovL3d3dy53My5vcmcvMjAwMC9zdmciPjwvc3ZnPg==\" style=\"--smush-placeholder-width: 458px; --smush-placeholder-aspect-ratio: 458\/305;\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Syngenta&#8217;s outstanding example of waste management was also explained. Each and every part of the corn is used, and the waste that is generated enters the circular economy as it can be used as raw material in other industries. Seeds will be sown, while the husks and cobs will be used for animal feed or as a raw material in cosmetics.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"wp-image-8967 aligncenter lazyload\" data-src=\"https:\/\/bcsdh.hu\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/10\/03_DSC_0875.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"455\" height=\"303\" src=\"data:image\/svg+xml;base64,PHN2ZyB3aWR0aD0iMSIgaGVpZ2h0PSIxIiB4bWxucz0iaHR0cDovL3d3dy53My5vcmcvMjAwMC9zdmciPjwvc3ZnPg==\" style=\"--smush-placeholder-width: 455px; --smush-placeholder-aspect-ratio: 455\/303;\" \/><\/p>\n<p>In the evening, a Frittmann wine tasting &#8211; a local phenomenon &#8211; was held at Hercegasszony Birtok, which was followed by a dinner made from local ingredients. An emerging small start-up company, TL Jeans, &#8220;dressed up&#8221; wines that were given to participants as a gift<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"wp-image-8971 aligncenter lazyload\" data-src=\"https:\/\/bcsdh.hu\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/10\/07_DSC_0986.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"452\" height=\"302\" src=\"data:image\/svg+xml;base64,PHN2ZyB3aWR0aD0iMSIgaGVpZ2h0PSIxIiB4bWxucz0iaHR0cDovL3d3dy53My5vcmcvMjAwMC9zdmciPjwvc3ZnPg==\" style=\"--smush-placeholder-width: 452px; --smush-placeholder-aspect-ratio: 452\/302;\" \/><\/p>\n<p>On Saturday morning, guests were invited into the bottling plant of Szentkir\u00e1lyi-K\u00e9kk\u00fati Mineral Water Kft. by the managing director, Oliv\u00e9r Martin. In Szentkir\u00e1ly, the mineral water comes to the surface in the middle of a beautiful park inside a sanctified chapel,before obtaining its final form on a most modern bottling line.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"wp-image-8976 aligncenter lazyload\" data-src=\"https:\/\/bcsdh.hu\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/10\/DSC_0042.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"440\" height=\"293\" src=\"data:image\/svg+xml;base64,PHN2ZyB3aWR0aD0iMSIgaGVpZ2h0PSIxIiB4bWxucz0iaHR0cDovL3d3dy53My5vcmcvMjAwMC9zdmciPjwvc3ZnPg==\" style=\"--smush-placeholder-width: 440px; --smush-placeholder-aspect-ratio: 440\/293;\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Besides listening to the success story of Szentkir\u00e1lyi, sustainability issues were also discussed. The company mentioned that the European Association of Mineral Water Suppliers \u2013 which it is a member of \u2013 defined the goal of collecting 90% of their PET bottles by 2025. In Hungary, the collection rate is still low, despite the fact that the infrastructure is adequate.
