Ákos Lukács

Partner, Head of Climate Change and Sustainability Services, EY Hungary

Ákos Lukács joined EY Hungary in 2022 as Head of Climate Change and Sustainability Services. He has more than 20 years of professional experience in climate change, sustainability, ESG and sustainable finance. He began his career as a researcher and later gained experience in the Hungarian and German public sectors before moving into consulting. From 2012 to 2016, he served as Head of the Climate Policy Department, acted as Hungary’s national focal point for the IPCC, and participated in the negotiations of the Paris Agreement. He contributed to the development of the Budapest Stock Exchange’s ESG Reporting Guide and served as project lead for the development of the Sustainable Capital Market Strategy prepared for the Central Bank of Hungary. Throughout his career, he has supported numerous Hungarian and international companies and financial institutions in developing sustainability strategies, ESG reports and sustainable finance solutions. His mission is to help companies identify the business opportunities arising from sustainable operations and create long-term value. In 2026, the National Association of Managers recognised him with the Special Award for Environmentally Conscious Economy as part of its Manager of the Year Awards.
