István Salgó

Honorary President of BCSDH

István Salgó is an economist with more than three decades of leadership experience in the financial sector and economic governance. Throughout his career, he has held senior leadership positions at Hungarian and international financial institutions. From May 2007 until the end of 2016, he served as CEO of ING Bank Hungary. Between 2002 and 2006, he was Deputy State Secretary at the Ministry of Finance, where he was responsible for matters related to state asset management, privatisation and the regulation of financial services. From 1991 to 2002, he held various senior positions across the financial sector. As President of BCSDH from 2009 to 2016, he actively contributed to advancing sustainable business practices in Hungary. He holds a Candidate of Sciences degree in Economics from the Hungarian Academy of Sciences and has been awarded the Officer’s Cross of the Order of Merit of the Republic of Hungary in recognition of his professional achievements.
