Does Pay Transparency Foster Openness or Create Pay Tensions? – Pay Transparency in Focus at the Social Capital Creative Hub Meeting

On 15 October 2026, BCSDH held its latest Social Capital Creative Hub meeting, hosted by Shell Hungary Zrt. The meeting opened with a welcome address by Gyula Marik, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Shell Hungary Zrt. He highlighted that people are at the heart of the company’s core values: honesty, integrity and respect for people. Investing in human capital is among the company’s top priorities, alongside creating an inclusive and diverse workplace that ensures equal opportunities for all.

Zita Szederkényi, Program Manager of BCSDH, then reflected on the 2026 edition of BCSDH’s Future Leaders’ Program, drawing on participants’ feedback. She highlighted that the program’s 13th cohort had once again gained valuable insights and experiences through the training days. Participants had the opportunity to explore the day-to-day operations and sustainability challenges of other companies, expand their professional knowledge and build valuable connections.

The second part of the meeting focused on a highly topical issue: compliance with the EU Pay Transparency Directive. Anikó Zsákovics, Senior HR and ESG Specialist at Summit D&V Kft., and József Sebestény, Business Development Director at Future FM Zrt., shared their experiences and insights with participants. The discussion was enriched by active contributions from the audience, revealing a diverse picture of how companies are approaching the challenges ahead. Pay transparency is expected to become an important factor in business competitiveness, but with effective communication and education, it also has the potential to drive positive change.
