New automated DRS processing plant launched in Kistarcsa

Trial operation has begun at the ALTEO Group’s latest fully automated DRS (deposit return system) waste processing plant at its Kistarcsa site. With its annual capacity of 14,000 tonnes, the Group now keeps a total of 28,000 tonnes of collected beverage packaging – PET bottles and metal cans – in circulation instead of sending it to landfill.

The plant is currently Hungary’s most advanced DRS processing system. With this investment, ALTEO extends the life cycle of packaging materials subject to product fees and further reduces its ecological footprint.
