The Swedish Chamber of Commerce in Hungary cordially invites You
to the 1 st Gran Prize – Award Ceremony Gala Dinner

in the presence of H.E. Karin Olofsdotter, the Ambassador of Sweden
on Friday, the 24th of May, 2013 at 7.00 p.m.

to take place in the baroque Ballroom of the wonderful historic building of Corinthia Hotel
(Erzsébet krt. 43-49. 1073 Budapest. )

The Gran Gala dinner will serve a sophisticated fusion of fine Hungarian cuisine and Swedish Nobel Banquette menu, created by Mr. Joel Khalil, Executive Chef of the Corinthia Hotel in collaboration with Mr.Gábor Németh, Che to H.E., Mrs. Karin Olofsdotter, Ambassador of Sweden to Hungary.

Dress code:Formal, black tie

18.30-19.00Arrival of the Distinguished guests
19.00 -19.30Opening of the Gran GalaWelcome speech and toast in memory of Carl von Linné given by Mr. János Takács, Chairman of the Swedish Chamber of Commerce in Hungary. The Gran Prize is established by the Swedish Chamber in memory of one of the most acclaimed scientists in Europe, honoured as the Princeps botanicorum (Prince of Botanists), “The Pliny of the North,””The Second Adam”.Speech by H.E.Mrs. Karin Olofsdotter, Ambassador of Sweden.Welcome cocktails , Swedish and Hungarian finger foods.
19.30-19.45“Rhapsody in Ecstasy”
Original musical composition written and performed by Ladislaus Horatius for the Gran Gala, with soloist Anna Lindqvist soprano. The piece amalgamates a symphonic poem, folk melodies and jazz. Anna Lindqvist, classical singer, graduated at the Music Conservatory of Florence. Ladislaus Horatius, composer and classical pianist, graduated at the Royal College of Music in Stockholm.
19.45-20.00Award Ceremony of the 2013 Gran Prize presented by the Board of Judges
Annual prize awarded for outstandingly innovative solutions in response to the most pressing issues of our planet, in the field of environmental protection, sustainable development, design, medicine, health preservation and development and education.
