The company, founded in 2020, offers a wide range of HR services, such as recruitment, executive search, niche sourcing and workforce strategies, as well as consultancy and “green strategies” solutions. All their activities are deeply influenced by their main guiding principle, sustainability. Their goal is to shape the world of talent and recruitment together with their clients in the new green economy. As they put it: “We want our grandchildren to see snow; therefore, we must “Make the world greener through the power of people and organizations”. By “transforming organizations to becoming net-zero where humanity and nature flourish while respecting, abiding and promoting the 3ple bottom-line approach of People-Planet-Profit””. Our purpose is to “Create intrinsic, sustainable ESG changes for our clients by driving its potential”. We do this by “Mobilizing our client’s internal talent through collaboration and searching for external talent to create tangible change”.

They are also committed to sustainability in their own operations. As a micro company, they mainly have personal emissions due to their service offering and operating framework. They strive to minimize these by, for example, using shared offices, cycling to work and to the clients, limiting printing on paper, and supporting remote work and flexible working conditions.

They foster a diverse, inclusive, and supportive work environment where every individual is respected, valued, and given equal opportunities to thrive.

This year, they want to be certified as a “B Corporation” so that they can be among the companies that answer the question of how business can be instruments of positive social change.

This September, they will prepare their first report on green talent.

They joined BCSDH in order to become members of a community of like-minded people and businesses.

Tree planting for carbon-conscious events

News

It is important for BCSDH that all of its operations, including events, are carbon-conscious. In collaboration with GreenDependent Institute, we plant 40-50 native fruit trees annually in school gardens to offset the CO2 emissions that we cannot avoid, thus supporting sustainability on multiple levels. Recently, on behalf of the BCSDH Executive Board, BCSDH employees planted six fruit trees at the Göllner Mária Regional Waldorf High School in Budapest.

The TreeDependent program focuses on planting native fruit trees in educational and social institution gardens, which:

  • Provide educational and communal gardening opportunities for students and residents of the institutions
  • Offer the owners delicious fruit and contribute to local food production.
  • Contribute to the preservation of biological diversity and local varieties. The trees are sourced from the “Tündérkert” (Fairy Garden) in Pórszombat, Zala County, which serves as a gene preservation site

BCSDH aims to draw the attention of its members to the importance of carbon-conscious event organization. Learn more about organizing carbon-conscious events.

BCSDH ’Transform Talks’: Climate change is a symptom that nature is in trouble

News

The decline of biodiversity and climate change must be considered together, as they are mutually influencing processes. The resulting challenges have now become financial and operational risks. Therefore it is important to understand what the business sector needs to do to foster for systemic change and speed up the process in order to protect and restore natural diversity, as well as promote climate adaptation.

This was the topic of this year’s BCSDH ‘Transform Talks’ CEO Roundtable discussion series, in which more than 40 company leaders participated and shared their thoughts on the topic, the events were led by Márta Irén, BCSDH’s managing director.

The importance of the situation is shown by the fact that in December 2022, a historic agreement was reached at the UN Biodiversity Conference (COP15) in Montreal. The majority of the ministers and government officials of the 190 countries participating in the event agreed that the protection of biodiversity should be a priority.

Május 11-i esemény (Házigazda: Henkel)

During the round table discussions, it emerged that the companies have the commitment, but so far they are less aware of the areas in which they need to act in order to protect and restore nature. At the same time, there are already companies that consciously assess the effects and opportunities on nature resulting from their own operations, and there are forward-looking business solutions that are also exemplary at the industry level.

It was also clearly seen that the involvement of experts is especially justified in this topic, since it is a special area where the impact must also be examined in a complex way. The built environment also has many opportunities for climate-neutral operation. It is also an important lesson that in many cases even a small change or innovation can bring significant results, which does not require a large investment, and can even bring savings.

Május 16-i esemény (Házigazda: Generali)

The concrete results of the ‘Transform Talks’ CEO Roundtable discussions and the business recommendations regarding biodiversity will be presented at the BCSDH Business Lunch on 12th October, together with the company’s best practices.

Shell Hungary opens its first LNG filling station in Hungary

Member News

A new station was added to Shell’s European LNG network in April 2023, supporting the carbon reduction efforts of commercial road transport. The Hungarian site, the first in the region is located in Szigetszentmiklós, along the M0 ring road, connecting several trans-European corridors.

Commercial road transport is a key element of the world’s supply chain. The sector is responsible for 9% of global CO2 emissions. While the demand is expected to triple by 2050, the sector needs to become fully decarbonised, to which LNG as an alternative fuel can contribute.

In line with the commitments made in its Powering Progress strategy, Shell is supporting the decarbonisation efforts of its transport partners by offering lower emission fuels. The company offers LNG at more than 150 filling stations across Europe and bio-LNG blends throughout its network in the Netherlands. By using 100% bio-LNG, carbon emissions can be reduced to zero.

The new Hungarian LNG-station is part of the network expansion. The filling station, was opened on 13 April and is located next to the M0 ring road. The new site supports the supply of LNG as truck fuel within Hungary but also freight traffic to countries like Austria, Czechia, Germany, Romania, Slovenia, Slovakia. The station, modernised to meet Shell’s high quality and safety standards across Europe, is planned to offer bio-LNG fuel in the future. At the opening ceremony, Minister of Foreign Affairs and Trade, Péter Szijjártó and István Kapitány, Global Vice President of Shell’s Mobility, welcomed the guests and expressed their commitment to reducing emissions from road transport.

Shell Hungary has also initiated a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU), which it signed with several energy and transport stakeholders at the beginning of April. The purpose of the agreement is to broaden the downstream usage of LNG and bio-LNG in commercial road transport. Waberer’s International, MVM CEEnergy, MVM Mobiliti, ECO-Tech Vision, Volvo Trucks Hungary, and Scania Hungária joined Shell Hungary zRt as signatories.

Shell will establish LNG stations in the region, amongst themAustria, the Czech Republic, Slovakia, and Slovenia. Shell also intends to expand its Hungarian LNG filling station network along important transport routes and international transport corridors in order to cover the entire country and region.
