There is now a real need for responsible company leaders – The participants of the sixth year of the ‘Future Leaders’ Talent Program have received their certificates

At the BCSDH Business Lunch the participants of the sixth year of the ‘Future Leaders’ Talent Program received their certificates. 

The Business Council for Sustainable Development in Hungary’s (BCSDH) ‘Future Leaders’ Talent Program is unique in Europe, and including this year’s 33 participants over 170 young leaders have now completed the program in the six years it has been running.

The participants of the sixth program were young managers and executives from BCSDH member companies, all with very different specializations. Each professional day was hosted by one of the member companies.

The program is unique in Hungary, and even in Europe, as participants can learn about ethical operations, strategy and sustainability in a diverse group, not only from recognized experts but also from practicing business leaders, while being able to become deeply acquainted with the mentoring companies.

“In our program, which is unique in Europe, we are looking for solutions to the world’s global challenges. We provide relevant knowledge and an approach that can be immediately integrated into participants’ own companies.”, said Zita Szederkényi, Head of the ‘Future Leaders’ Talent Program, at the award ceremony.

The program follows the seven principles of ‘The Complex Interpretation of Corporate Sustainability’ Recommendation for Business Leaders. Each ‘professional day’ focuses on the objectives, theoretical background and industry best practise related to one of the seven recommendations: Sustainable Development and the strategic approach, Responsible management, Ethical operations, Respect for human values, Environmental responsibility, Partnership with stakeholders, Transparent operations. In this year the theme of Sustainable Products, Services and Innovation has been added.

Sixty mentors per year, including corporate leaders, civil, scientific and industry experts, help participants get acquainted with the sustainability-related opportunities inherent in the business sector from all possible angles.

Participant teams presented their project work to a jury of corporate executives at the September “deepening day”. Short project films were presented at the BCSDH Business Lunch to nearly 170 prestigious guests before the certificate-awarding ceremony.

The seventh year of the ‘Future Leaders’ Talent Program will begin in January 2020. We await applications from our member companies by 8th November.

What does responsible water management mean to companies?

The majority of the effects of climate change will be highly related to water, so companies need to develop climate adaptation strategies considering the continuously changing water circumstances.  – emphasized participants at the CEO roundtable discussions in May and in September that focused on Water through the Action 2020 Hungary program.

BCSDH’s CEO round-table discussions were held in May and continued in September. The purpose of the events was to define those focal areas in which BCSDH can define concrete recommendations and activities for the business sector. The hosts of the round-table discussions were BCSDH’s member companies LeasePlan, Szentkirályi, Future FM and Zwack Unicum.

Participants agreed that all companies, regardless of industry and size, are affected by the drastically changing water conditions. The first significant step in this, is the development of climate adaptation strategies and the implementation of circular water management. Preventing consumption, reducing, reusing, and recycling used water, as well releasing it back will all contribute to reducing company’s water footprint. Finally, it is crucial to create partnerships in the value chain and operational environment to increase water efficiency and water renewal.

The aim of BCSDH is to define recommendations and activities for the business sector regarding water with which companies can create real impact. Moreover, companies can introduce their business solutions on 10th October at BCSDH’s business lunch and in related publications so that they can be adapted by other companies.

Edit Csizmadia is the new Head of Corporate Programs at BCSDH

From 1st September, 2019 onwards, Edit Csizmadia will be the new Head of Corporate Programs of the Business Council for Sustainable Development in Hungary (BCSDH).

The new project manager will be responsible for the extended duties of Zsófia Dudás Galambosné, who has just welcomed her third child and will dedicate her time to the family.

Edit Csizmadia has gained more than 10 years of experience in the area of sustainability and communications in several roles: she coordinated TREND FM’s CSR broadcast, she was responsible for the communications at KÖVET Association thus has been involved, among other things, in organizing CSR Market and other conferences, trainings and corporate sustainability projects. As a consultant of Denkstatt Ltd., she supported several companies in the implementation of sustainable corporate projects and conducted researches with several non-governmental organizations. She also gained industrial experience directly as a sustainability expert at MOL Plc. Edit has cooperated with the BCSDH in many of her positions over the years.

The organization, which now has 90 member companies, has reached another phase of its development. The ever-expanding activities make it necessary for and also allows the new Head of Corporate Programs to perform her expanded duties in a full-time job. In addition to the Action2020 Hungary program, the new project manager will also be responsible for developing the strategy of the Action2030 program, managing the Circular Economy Platform representing BCSDH, coordinating the related working groups and expanding the function of BCSDH as an expert.

The primary goal of Edit Csizmadia begins after the worthy closure of the Action 2020 Hungary, when a similarly successful program needs to be established, which responds to the challenges of today’s world, providing sufficient inspiration to domestic CEOs committed to sustainability.

Another important task she highlights, is the real impact of the Circular Economy Platform, which operates at a regional and a national level and is implemented through the active participation of companies and the dissemination of a circular economic model.

BCSDH’s Advisory Board has been established

BCSDH’s Executive Board has decided in April to set up an Advisory Board in order to represent the increasing number of member companies more effectively, to contribute to their commitment towards the developement of the organisation’s actions.

The members of the Advisory Board are active members of BCSDH and are representing a wide range of sectors: Sándor Baja (Randstad), Andrea Bujdosó (Shell), László Flórián (Rossmann), Ágnes Horváth (Progress Reastaurant Chain LLC. / McDonald’s), Imre Horváth (METRO), László Török (Grundfos).

The Advisory Board includes one member delegated from the Future Leaders Talent program Alumni. After the assessment of the submitted applications, based on the votes of the Alumni members, Sarolta Katona (Budapest Airport) shall represent the young leaders of the program.

Their mandate shall be 3 years.

The tasks of the Advisory Board include attending the annual strategic board meeting of the BCSDH Executive Board, the strengthening of BCSDH’s role through their personal relations and representing BCSDH at external events.

The Hungarian subsidiary of Randstad, the world’s second-largest consulting company, is managed by Sándor Baja. Prior to working at Randstad, Sándor Baja was the regional operational director of LG Electronics. He has previously gained experience in the FMCG sector as the marketing director of Eckes-Granini in France and as commercial director of Borsodi Brewery. In 2004, his book was published about his professional business experiences with the title Marketing adventures – Brands in Practice from Budapest to Paris. He obtained a degree in International Economics with an excellent qualification in Moscow, then graduated also from the Paris Chamber of Commerce and Industry.

Andrea Bujdosó

Chairman of the board, Sales excellence lead – EMEA

Shell Hungary Zrt.

Andrea Bujdosó has joined Shell Hungary Zrt. in 2009. She was responsible for the road transport area of ​​euroShell Card in Hungary and Romania and then managed the entire euroShell Card of the two countries. From the beginning of 2012, her responsibilities also covered the management of the Bulgarian euroShell Card. From 2014 she supports the development of sales excellence in the B2B areas. In 2017 she became the Chairman of the Board of Directors of Shell Hungary Zrt. In addition to this role, she continued to work as a leader of sales areas in Europe, the Middle East and Africa. She started her career in sales in Romania, Timişoara and from 1997 she had worked for 10 years at Xerox Hungary Ltd. in sales and marketing and business management positions. She studied at the IT Department of the University of Timisoara and also finished an MBA program at the Open Business School.

László Flórián

Managing Director

Rossman Hungary

László Flórián has been the managing director of Rossmann Hungary since 2012. Until the end of last year, he was also responsible for the Czech market of the company and at his former job at Baumax, he also worked as a sales director for the Romanian subsidiary. Thanks to these, his experiences in negotiations has also been strengthened internationally.

As an executive, his goal is to perform better than the competitors every year. But in addition to increasing market share, he also considers quantitative and qualitative expansion, innovative marketing and communication, an ever-expanding and innovative range of products and consistent pricing policies. He prefers putting the decisions into practice as soon as possible. If the consumer does not perceive the change on his own skin, then the action is worth nothing.

Ágnes Horváth

Managing Director, Progress Restaurant Chain LLC (McDonald’s)

As a freshly graduated food engineer she accidentally found a job advertisement at one of the McDonald’s restaurants in Budapest. The brand was always close to her heart and the opportunity for progress convinced her to immediately apply for it. As a systematic person, she could easily adapt to the company. A year after joining the company, she became a restaurant manager, since 2001 she has been an operational manager and since 2005, she has been responsible for managing the operations of the entire Hungarian network.

Since 2010 she’s been the managing director of the company and is responsible for the McDonald’s brand in Hungary. Beyond maintaining a high level of operations considering their restaurants and supply network, as a responsible company, they are actively working on keeping the guidelines of sustainable development in all areas of their business. They are committed to working together on issues that are important to all. She sees the Ronald McDonald’s House Charities the heart of their brand, it has a special place in their lives.

Imre Horváth

CEO

METRO Cash & Carry Hungary

Since November 2013, he is responsible for METRO’s team, which contains 2500 people who work every day to support the success of more than 400,000 regularly served customers. During his professional career, he has gained marketing and sales experience considering both professional and managerial skills in four industries, from the FMCG, telecommunications, financial and commerce sector. He spent more than eight years as a manager in foreign countries, in London, South East Asia and Israel. Recently, as a member of the international METRO Sustainability Council, he has had the opportunity to influence the continuous development of the corporate group. In addition to his family programs, he spends his free time outdoors, mostly with a bike or near water.

László Török

COO Office Operations Director

Grundfos 

He started his career as a mechanical engineer at Videoton Zrt., then continued as a general deputy director at one of the Holding’s companies. From 2000, he worked at Tatabánya for Grundfos Hungary Kft., and from 2008, he is the managing director of the company. From 2019 he is the Operations Director of the Grundfos Group’s COO Office. Meanwhile, he attended the Grundfos Academy’s “Self and People Management” training and as of 2009, he is taking part of the talent management program of the group as a developer-appraiser. He graduated from the American University of Purdue in 2008 with an Executive MBA degree. He was born in Târgu Mureş, is 48 years old, married and a father of two children.

Budapest Airport

She started working as a trainee at Budapest Airport in 2008, then worked as a junior financial analyst, senior financial analyst positions until 2019, when she has become a financial analysis manager at the Controlling Department. She graduated from the Future Leaders Talent Program in 2017 and has since been an active member of Alumni. She completed her studies at the Corvinus University of Budapest, where she obtained a Master’s degree in Economics in 2010 with excellent qualification.

Sixth-year “Future Leaders” are over halfway through their program

Thirty-four young leaders have participated in five professional training days in what is the sixth year of the “Future Leaders” talent program until now.

On the basis of an evaluation of ongoing satisfaction surveys, the average for this year’s professional days is higher than last year, partly due to many new developments. At the opening event, thanks to BASF and MVÜK, participants had a chance to get to know each more deeply.

The new “Sustainable Innovation, Products and Services” professional day was launched and hosted by Richter.

The interactive parts of the “Future Leaders” program added colour to all the professional days, including those about Strategic Approach, held at Siemens, Responsible Corporate Governance, held at METRO and Environmental Responsibility, hosted by Budapest Airport. 


The program continues at McDonald’s, Telenor and Essity, with the topics of Partnership with Stakeholders, Transparent Operations, and the Deepening Day.

Participant teams have already begun working on their projects, which focus on water this year.

Isosugar, proof spirit, and a catapult – a summary of BCSDH’s Weekend

This year’s BCSDH Weekend involved a delightful program for the 13 participating CEOs and their partners.

The first day was hosted by Zoltán Reng, Managing Director, Hungrana Kft. Visitors to the factory in Szabadegyház were introduced to the wide product range and sustainability features of the company. All parts of corn are used to produce alcohol, isosugar, dextrose, biofuel, starch, high-protein feed and biomass gas. Most of the products serve as raw materials for many domestic brands, ranging from pudding powders through soft drinks and spirits to fuel.

In line or even going beyond the very strict ISCC EU3 standard, Hungrana supports reuse and recovery and strives for responsible resource management. Sustainable development is one of the most important engines for the quality development of Hungrana Kft.

After a visit to the factory, participants enjoyed a pleasant dinner with wine in Kardosfa, Zselic, close to the location of the program for the following day.

On the second day, János Handó, the manager and owner of Katica Tanya, welcomed the team at Patca. János talked about the sense of mission, his own journey, and the conscious creation of Katica Tanya as an experience center that now receives 78,000 visitors a year.

The Katica Tanya Experience Center is an eco-conscious family park with the mission of raising awareness of sustainability. Sustainability is demonstrated in practice as well, since the farm operates using 100% renewable energy which is partly obtained from its own solar park.

Their own Root Zone  Wastewater treatment system is also remarkable. Waste-water generated in the Experience Center is purified with this natural solution that requires no chemicals or energy.

The experience was made unforgettable with the testing of a copy of a real medieval catapult, which, after careful preparation with the participation of the leaders, fired a stone ball more than 200 meters.

The two-day program ended with a delightful lunch. We would like to thank the host companies and their managers for their professional program and warm hospitality.

Preparation for the domestic IPCC climate report has started – BCSDH represented the voice of companies at the working conference in Szeged

Márta Irén, Managing Director of BCSDH represented the business sector at the Climate Change in Hungary: National Evaluation Report Scoping Work Conference in Szeged.

Leading lectures were held by Diána Ürge-Vorsatz, László Z. Antal, and Tamás Gál,  followed by thought-provoking presentations on the domestic aspects of climate change from a stakeholder perspective.

Irén Márta also gave a lecture in which she pointed out the most important aspects of the report regarding the business sector. Her presentation was based on questionnaires completed by BCSDH member companies and the related work of the BCSDH.

For companies, the ultimate concern is to predict the economic and social impacts of climate change and its effect on energy use. In terms of regulation and financing, the most interesting issue is Hungarian commitment, and understanding how international climate agreements affect domestic players. Domestic companies are primarily interested in mitigation and adaptation tactics in the area of waste management, raising awareness in the field of the economy, water management, and transportation.

A major part of the working conference involved panel discussions and debates in small groups. As a result of the conference the content and the schedule of the climate report can now be put together. Following the IPCC procedure, a forum of government representatives will finalize the Table of Contents of the Report.

The Circular Economy Platform is expanding dynamically – Hungary can play a leading role in the region

68 organizations and companies joined during the last 5 months
Another 20 organizations and companies signed the Memorandum of Understanding of the Circular Economy Platform, extending the number of the members to 68. The Platform, founded in November 2018, was officially established as an initiative of the Business Council for Sustainable Development in Hungary (BCSDH), the Embassy of the Kingdom of the Netherlands, and the Ministry of Innovation and Technology.

Following the signature ceremony at the residence of the Ambassador of the Kingdom of the Netherlands, the participants were informed about the plans and the ongoing work for 2019. The event also gave the participants an opportunity to have an informal networking as well as to discover cooperation opportunities in the field of circular economy.

“The Circular Economy Platform was created as an initiative to help the transition from a linear to a circular economy. The aim of the platform is to create collaboration and share knowledge between the corporate, governmental, scientific and the civil sector.” – highlighted Attila Chikán Jr., President of BCSDH in his greeting speech.

The European Commission published a comprehensive report on the implementation of the Circular Economy Action Plan in March 2019. According to the findings of the report, it is crucial to invest in innovation to accelerate the transition to a circular economy. To cut plastic waste, proposals from the European Commission emphasize sound and efficient waste management systems, as well as to develop markets for secondary raw materials, which are also an essential building block of a circular economy.

„From an environmental point of view, the transition to a circular economy contributes to the proper functioning of a sustainable, low-carbon, resource-efficient and competitive economy. Hungary may be able to play a leading role in the region.” – highlighted Balázs Weingartner, Minister of State for Sustainability, Ministry of Innovation and Technology.

“Professional work of the Platform has already begun, with the establishment of the Circular Economy Working Group. The first and most important step is to find out the state of the circular economy in Hungary, so we can set goals and start a discussion and cooperation on the most relevant issues. The results of the survey will be presented at the Circular Economy Summit on 28th of November.” – added Irén Márta, Managing Director of BCSDH, talking about this year’s plans.

In his opening remark Ambassador René van Hell welcomed the new signatories of the CE Platform emphasizing the diversity contributing to the synergies among the stakeholders. He also highlighted the lively scene of the Dutch circular community illustrated by on-line platform called circulairondernemen.nl which provides lots of information, cross-border contacts and match-making possibilities. The Embassy will continue its support activities for going circular, including a video on the best practices and CE Summit in November.

Circular economy

According to the current so-called linear economic model, technical and biological components are extracted from nature, transformed, and are then disposed of without recycling.

In contrast, in the circular economic model metabolic processes are involved in a closed circle, waste is almost 100% recycled, and biological and technological components are returned to the cycle with minimum loss of quality.

Hungary is on the verge of a water crisis: What can companies do?

There is no question that there will be a water crisis in the twenty-first century because its effects are already occurring in Hungary. Also, there is no question whether it will affect companies: the answer is clear: it will – Prof. Dr. András Szöllősi-Nagy pointed out at the BCSDH Business Breakfast and Action 2020 Professional Forum on March 27, 2019, which focused on the subject of water.

 

Prof. Dr. András Szöllősi-Nagy, Deputy Chairman of the Intergovernmental Council of the UNESCO International Hydrological Program and Doctor of the Hungarian Academy of Sciences delivered a successful and thought-provoking lecture at the Business Breakfast of the Hungarian Business Council for Sustainable Development (BCSDH). The Business Breakfast of the organization – with its 87 member companies which produce 30% of Hungarian GDP – was followed by an Action 2020 workshop with the participation of CEOs and experts that was aimed at helping the business sector to make real improvements in the area of water.

In his introductory thoughts, Dr. Gábor Bartus, Secretary General of the National Sustainable Development Council (NFFT), highlighted the following: ‘Despite previous efforts, Earth’s natural capital continues to decline at a very fast pace. Today’s poor sustainability performance means tomorrow’s weaker socio-economic well-being. Fortunately, for humanity, remedial technologies, patterns, institutions and values have been identified and are available. These can prevent the destruction of natural resources, or at least substantially slow down the process.

According to a forecast by the OECD, by 2050 global water use will increase by 55%. Most of this growth will be due to an increase in the demand for water from manufacturing, the energy sector, and households.’

‘Most of the effects of climate change will become visible through changes in water, thus all businesses must prepare to use water more efficiently. Climate-change and water-related problems should not be approached from an engineering perspective only, as water use has important economic, sociological and political implications as well. In the next 10 years, the biggest risk factor will be ignoring water-related problems, extreme weather, climate change, and the social consequences of these phenomena. Only 0.007% of Earth’s water resources are available for direct human consumption. We are on the verge of a water crisis.’ – András Szöllősi-Nagy explained.

‘Although Hungary is for now in a favourable position from the perspective of water supply, it is crucial that we sustain this beneficial situation in the long term. The business sector has a role to play in achieving this. CEOs have the primary responsibility of recognizing the importance of adaptation and starting the process of adapting. The issue of increasing water efficiency partly involves market competition as well, a fact which cannot be separated from the issue of security of supply. Additionally, ensuring a supply of suitable quality water will also prove to be increasingly challenging for companies. This year, through our Action 2020 program, we aim to support the efforts of companies in these areas.’ – pointed out Attila Chikán, president of BCSDH, in his introduction.

The business breakfast was followed by the Action 2020 Forum, the primary purpose of which is to launch and support effective teamwork and joined-up thinking in the business sector while creating a real impact. Fifty-nine companies have already joined the program.

The main objective of the Action 2020 program is to support climate adaptation in the water sector so that water is available to everyone in the long term, considering available water resources.

‘In order for water to be available to users in the right quality and quantity, Action 2020 Hungary aims to encourage domestic businesses to set ambitious yet realistic goals and to identify and disseminate solutions that contribute to their realization. During the Forum’s work, we try to identify the most important challenges and opportunities in the former areas, as well as pre-existing business solutions that can bring about immediate-, short- or medium-term results’ – pointed out Károly Kovács, Managing Director of BDL Kft. and  Head of the BCSDH Action 2020 Water Working Group.

Attila Chikán Jr. re-elected as BCSDH president

Attila Chikán Jr., CEO of ALTEO Plc., was re-elected as president by the Business Council for Sustainable Development in Hungary’s assembly.

 Budapest, February 26, 2019 – Attila Chikán Jr. was re-elected as president by the general assembly of the Business Council for Sustainable Development in Hungary. Under Mr. Chikan’s three years of leadership the number of member companies has increased by 27. These 83 companies together produce more than 30 percent of Hungarian GDP. The visibility of the organization to governmental stakeholders and to a wider audience has also increased.

The re-elected president’s work will be supported by a four-member board. Its re-elected members are Zsolt Jamniczky, Member of the Board of Directors of E.ON Hungaria, Dr. Ágnes Fábián, Managing Director of HENKEL Hungary, and Zoltán Gazsi, Managing Director of Eisberg Hungary. The new member is Gréta Nagy, Managing Director of DANDELION, as elected by the assembly. She follows Dr. Thomas Nareshubert, Executive Director of BASF Hungaria. The mandate of President and the Executive Board is for three years.
The management of BCSDH will remain in the hands of Irén Márta.

The re-elected Supervisory Board Members are Orsolya Pallaghy and Dr. Orsolya Fazekas. A new member is János Kocsányi, CEO of Graphisoft Park SE, elected by the assembly to follow Sándor Lakatos, General Manager of INEST.

’I believe that the organization is on the right path’ – started the evaluation of the last three years by Attila Chikán Jr., President of BCSDH – ’our organization is becoming more and more effective each and every year, considering that all the programs carried out by BCSDH –  like Action 2020 Hungary and the Future Leader Talent Program – have achieved outstanding success these past years.’

BCSDH has also been able to increase its visibility and publicity concerning governmental stakeholders as well. A permanent support position in the National Sustainable Development Committee (NFFT) has been established, and BCSDH has developed a very strong professional partnership with the Presidential Office as well. Moreover, it was a great achievement of BCSDH that the organization, along with its member firms, took part in developing the Independent National Sustainability report of Hungary: more precisely, the section on the business sector which focused on the Implementation of the Sustainable Development Framework 2030 and its successes so far, at the request of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

’However, the creation of the Circular Economy Platform, an initiative launched with the support of BCSDH, the Dutch Embassy, and the Ministry of Technology and Innovation, is what I consider the greatest achievement of my presidential term. The aim of the platform is to create unity and share knowledge in co-operation with the corporate, governmental and scientific sector. Since its launch, more than 55 member firms have signed the declaration of agreement, and this number is constantly increasing.’ – Attila Chikan Jr said, in highlighting the greatest successes of previous years.

’As for the future, we would like to maintain the progress that we have made in the past while making further developments. We have quite a few challenges ahead of us: In addition to concluding and evaluating the Action 2020 program, we need to keep up progress in developing a new program by 2030 which will be linked to SDGs. We have a lot of work ahead of us.’ – highlighted Attila Chikan Jr. – ’Furthermore, my plan is to solidify and expand our governmental and international partnerships, as the mutual support of professionals can help us immensely in achieving our future goals. It is my strongest belief that BCSDH must be open towards smaller firms as well in order to educate more companies about the role of sustainable development.’ – added the re-elected president.

The new leadership of Business Council for Sustainable Development in Hungary

 

Attila Chikán Jr. – President
CEO
ALTEO Plc.

 Mr. Chikán has a degree in economics and more than a decade of professional and leadership experience in the field of energy. The ALTEO Group, led by Mr. Chikán since its establishment, has become one of the sector’s most important actors. The company’s core businesses are smart energy management services for industrial firms and renewable energy production. ALTEO has issued stocks on the Budapest Stock Exchange since 2010 and was recently listed in the Prime Equities category. The company is one of the leading domestic representatives of an impact investment strategy aimed at making profitable, sustainable and socially responsible investments.

Chikán Attila Jr. is committed to the principles of sustainability: he runs his own blog under the name Chikansplanet. He is also actively participating in BCSDH’s professional work and has served as the president of BCSDH since 2016.

 

Dr. Ágnes Fábián
CEO
Henkel Magyarország Kft.
Adhesives Technologies business unit executive

A member of Henkel Magyarország Kft’s team since 1996, Dr. Ágnes Fábián became a business unit executive at Henkel Adhesive Technologies by moving up through the company hierarchy and spending nine years in an international environment, besides which she has also been CEO of Henkel Magyarország since 2011. Dr. Fábián began her career in 1990 at Biogal Gyógyszergyár Hélia’s cosmetics sales division. Later on, she worked as regional sales manager at Maybeline’s and Loctite Magyarország when Henkel acquired the company. Her aim is to make even more leaders realize that sustainability and value creation for customers are inevitably components of good performance. Operating sustainably is now a requirement that cannot and should not evaded.

 

Zoltán Gazsi
Managing Director
Eisberg Hungary Kft.

 Managing Director of Eisberg since 2007. After graduating from the University of Agricultural Sciences in Gödöllő, Zoltán worked for the National Institute for Agricultural Quality Control, followed by 14 years of working in a multinational environment at Syngenta. After leading the Experimental Station at Ócsa, he had various marketing- and project-coordinator jobs in increasingly large fields of operation, including on almost all continents. He believes that the good examples seen at companies have an impact on the families of employees and on the direct and indirect environment of the company, and that these impacts are inevitably the start of significant changes at the level of society.

 

Zsolt Jamniczky
Member of the Board of Directors,
E.ON Hungária Zrt.

E.ON Hungária Group’s Director for Central Affairs since 2007 and Deputy CEO of the company since 2010. After completing his studies, Mr. Jamniczky served as an adviser in the Foreign Relations Office of the Hungarian National Assembly. In 1996 he was appointed Director for Corporate Affairs at Reemtsma Hungary, a Debrecen-based tobacco company. This was followed by the Director for Corporate Affairs position at Philip Morris Hungary until 2005, while between 2006 and 2007 Mr. Jamniczky was Philip Morris International’s Director of EU Government Relations at the company’s Brussels office. He studied at the Budapest University of Economics and the Eötvös Loránd University of Sciences. Mr. Jamniczky’s main fields of interest include corporate sustainability and corporate social responsibility in a constantly changing economic and social environment, and innovation in the energy sector.

Zsolt Jamniczky was awarded the Knight’s Cross of the Order of Merit by the President of Hungary in 2016.

 

Gréta Nagy
Managing Director
DANDELION Kft.

Founder and Managing Director of Dandelion Kft. since 2006.

Gréta graduated as an environmental engineer from the Széchenyi István University, and also from an Environmental Management Engineering and Economic Analyst MBA at the Budapest University of Technology and Economics.

She has participated in environmental and process-optimization projects over the last twelve years, and her colleagues have developed innovations such as the methodology for calculating a company’s ecological footprint, as well as the Greenlex software, which is a self-assessment software for regulatory compliance. The company’s latest development is WorksStressMeter, which may be used to measure the stress level of employees and organizations. Gréta has been participating in BCSDH’s work as a consultant.
