Last Christmas, employees at Allianz Hungária, once again, proved their commitment to their responsibility for society. Unfortunately, in Hungary there are a lot of families who are deeply in need, being really poor, they live in extremely sad conditions. These families don’t have either money nor any other resources to purchase warm and water-resist boots for their children. In winter times, which in Hungary can be very hard, children go to school in sopping, thin shoes – no matter if it is raining or snowing. Of course, they easily become sick. That is why Allianz employees organized a „boot buying” activity, buying new and warm boots for 150 children!
The organizers asked the help of local social workers who gave a list about the children with name, footsize and age; so the children got personalized packages. The colleagues were so nice (usually a little, 4-5-membered team chose one children), they felt a real responsibility for these children, so they completed the packages with for example: thick socks, chocolates, little toys, they wrote them short, kind messages. The colleagues of Allianz Hungária loved this activity so much, they proved their humanity again.
Not much to say about the outcome: The pictures of happy kids’ faces and pleased employees taken by Allianz colleagues speak for themselves, don’t they?

The MOL Group’s Female Engineers MOL ProgramMe provides financial support and skills development opportunities for outstanding female full-time students from selected universities. These students are pursuing degrees in the fields of Geoscience, Petroleum Engineering, Chemistry, Petrochemicals and other MOL Group relevant STEM subjects.
After the pre-selection, in which 69 applicants competed to enter the semi-final, the best 7 candidates were chosen to take part in personal interviews and to give presentations about the topic of Diversity & Inclusion. The competition was very tight and all the candidates demonstrated impressive knowledge at the event, but at the end only the best 3 candidates could receive the scholarship. The winners are:

The winners won valuable awards, including a 5000 Euro Scholarship, an opportunity to participate in an international Oil & Gas conference in 2017, a possibility to visit MOL Group’s site to see oil & gas operation in reality and an employment offer once their studies are completed. MOL Group will grant internship or opportunity to work on MOL Group projects, if it is relevant both for MOL Group and for the students.

MOL service station situated at Istenhegyi út has been upgraded by two new fast chargers suitable for simultaneous charging of four cars. Each charger has a total power throughput of 50 kW DC and 22 kW AC, both of them are compatible with the Japanese (CHAdeMO) and the European (CCS) standards and are equipped with Type 2 AC plugs, i.e. suitable for electric cars produced by VW, BMW, Renault, Opel, etc. Moreover, by using fast chargers, it takes only 20 minutes to fully charge a car.
The required electric energy is partly provided by the integrated solar panels installed on the canopy and on the “solar tree” above the fuel dispensers.

As part of the Budapest Water Summit 2016 (BWS 2016) a Sustainable Water Solutions Expo was held aiming to display internationally recognised water management technologies.
Recognising the fact that water-related business entities as well as representatives of the academic and scientific sectors can significantly contribute to the development and to the improvement of the aquatic environment, the co-organisers of the Expo, the Hungarian Water Cluster and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Trade will present the award of the “Water Innovation of the BWS 2016 Expo”.
Application for this Award was open to exhibitors and speakers of the Innovation Day of the BWS 2016 Sustainable Water Solutions Expo to nominate their own innovative equipment and/or technology. Pureco and Budapest Waterworks as exhibitors submitted an application about the latest common development: the ReWater drinking water treatment container.
From the entries the international evaluation committee – consists of international water professionals: Head of Unit for Water and Marine Resources in JRC Directorate D – Sustainable Resources, Director, Freshwater Program of WWF, president of ICSU, representatives from the Presidential Office, director of Water Unit of Hungarian Chambers of Engineers, rector of Eötvös József College, president of European Water Associations and member of the streering group of EIP Water – awarded Pureco and Budapest Waterworks with the prize of Water Innovation of the BWS 2016 Expo.
On the award ceremony, Mr Giovanni Bidoglio, Head of Unit for Water and Marine Resources in JRC Directorate D – Sustainable Resources, highlighted in his appraisal the importance of this innovations as it offers local solutions and access to drinking water for everyone even in risk areas of water scarcity.
The system that is able to produce drinking water even from biologically pre-treated waste water is equipped with the latest technological development operating with Reverse Osmosis technology, installed after suitable physical-chemical pre-treatment.
From the treated water BDL produces potable water with remineralization: disinfection and replacement of trace elements.
The compact, modular, cost-effective solution is available in container, flexibly used the modules in accordance with local environment and the given task.
ReWater container is easy to install where it is most needed such as high risk areas of water scarcity, contaminated freshwater sources, in case of disaster and havaria, etc.
The Master Unit has been tested in October and November this year in the Central WWTP of Budapest and thanks to the accurate and precise engineering and manufacturing work BDL can proudly say that from the pre-treated waste water of Central WWTP they were able to produce clean, healthy drinking water!
On the Budapest Water Summit 2016 Expo not only the ReWater container has been exhibited but visitors can taste ReWater as well.
Development of ReWater, after long preparation work, started at the beginning of 2016 as a cooperation between Pureco Ltd. (they were responsible for the technological development), BDL Ltd. (for engineering and development work) and Budapest Waterworks (responsible for manufacturing and logistic), and this award represents the success of the collaboration and hard work.

A recent survey conducted by CCHBC Hungary among the students of the four universities revealed that they are enthusiastic about dual training. When it comes to job seeking, most of them consider the possibility of professional development more important than salary.
Practical training is the first step to this direction. Coca‑Cola HBC Hungary has signed a dual training agreement with four Hungarian universities. With this new cooperation, the company can get qualified workforce, universities can provide an innovative way of training for the students and they will be able to gain degrees that are more valuable than others. This year, the youth programmes will support more than 30 students in gaining valuable working experience.
Students would like to have knowledge that can be used in the labour market, therefore most of them appreciates the start of dual training in education, —revealed the survey our company conducted late last year. Surprisingly, in addition to this aspect, students considered the possibility of professional improvement more important than high salary. The research confirms: the company’s decision about starting a dual training with food and mechanical engineer students of four Hungarian universities was right. The co-operation agreement was initialized by CEO Minas Agelidis and the representatives of Szent István University, Pannon Univrsity, Óbudai University and Szegedi University in the presence of Dr. István Nagy Deputy Minister of Agriculture and the Representatives of the State Secretariat for Higher Education.
“The most important condition of competitiveness today is clearly well-trained workforce; therefore, we expect dual training to spread and become widely available in the coming years. Through the recent co-operational agreement, our company will receive a continuous replenishment of excellent work force, who are prepared for the challenges of the 21st century. The dual training is beneficial for all parties; the student, the company and the university. During the training, students will gain work experience at industry leader companies. With all our youth programmes, our company provides valuable experience for more than 30 students altogether. In addition, the students receive salary for the entire duration of the training. Participants will be leaving university with three and a half years of work experience, therefore, they can find better jobs easier.

Henkel was again listed in the Global 100 Index of Corporate Knights, a Toronto-based media and investment advisory company, and ranks on the 15th place. The index lists the top overall sustainability performers in their respective industrial sectors, who are selected from more than 4,000 companies with a market capitalization greater than 2 billion dollars.

Sustainalytics has rated Henkel as a leader in the “Household and Personal Products” category. In December 2016, Henkel had the highest rating among the 40 companies assessed in the category with a total ESG score of 87 out of 100. Henkel was also included in the “Sustainability Yearbook 2017” and has received the Gold Class and Industry Mover distinction for its excellent sustainability performance. The yearbook includes the world’s most sustainable companies in each industry as determined by RobecoSAM’s annual corporate sustainability assessment, which is based on over 100 criteria. More than 3,000 of the world’s largest companies are invited to participate in this assessment every year.

On 21 December 2016 Government decree 393/2016. (XII. 5.) entered into force. The new regulation amends Government decree 122/2015. (V. 26.) on Energy Efficiency, therefore companies are obliged to receive energy program officer services as follows:
Companies will be obliged to receive energy program officer services, the average annual energy consumption of which over 3 years before the subject year exceed
a) 400 000 kWh electric energy
b) 100 000 m3 natural gas
c) 3 400 GJ heat volume.
The Energy program officer’s scope of duties are listed in details by the decree. Duties include: participating as professional observer and consultant in regular energetic audits, giving recommendations for energy efficient operational solutions and energy efficiency development options, preparing statements and monthly, annual reports about energy consumption and effects of delivered developments, performing tasks related to energy purchase and energy security.
